Board Meetings

Illinois Prairie District Public Library is governed by a Board of elected Trustees.  The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees occurs on the second Tuesday of each month, at 4:00 pm CST/CDT, at IPDPL - Germantown Hills, unless otherwise noted.  

Agendas, Meeting Minutes, and Meeting Packets are available for viewing on the Library website.

In compliance with the Open Meetings Act, all Board Meetings are open to the public.  Anyone wishing to address the Board during the Public Comments portion of the meeting should check in with the Board Secretary prior to the meeting being called to order.  Speakers must be recognized prior to speaking.  Their comments will be limited to five (5) minutes.  Speakers are encouraged to be brief.  The Public Comments portion of the meeting shall not exceed thirty (30) minutes in total.

Did you know that using only six 2 x 4 LEGO bricks, there are 915,103,765 possible building combinations?  IPDPL has a LOT more than six LEGO bricks, so the combinations could be endless!  Come to our drop-in LEGO Club sessions to build whatever is in your imagination!

LEGO Club

LEGO Club is intended as an opportunity for children to exercise their creativity using LEGO bricks and pieces.  All supplied LEGO bricks and pieces provided during LEGO Club are the property of Illinois Prairie District Public Library and are not intended to be taken home.  Completed LEGO builds may be displayed within the library at the discretion of library staff.


WARNING! CHOKING HAZARD: Standard LEGO pieces are intended and rated for children 3 years and up.  LEGO pieces should not be placed in or near the mouth.  LEGO pieces should not be swallowed as this can present a choking hazard.

Story Time

Stories, activities, music, and movement!

Learning is a circle with no beginning and no end.  Boys, girls, and children of all ages are invited to join our circle for stories & silliness, activities & antics, music & movement, learning & laughter, and fun & fellowship!

All ages and developmental stages are welcome.  Parents and caregivers are welcome to participate or hang back, watch, and socialize.

Children Outdoors

Whenever possible, children's programming sessions will be held in outdoor green spaces, weather permitting.  Please call the library at (309) 921-5074 if you have questions regarding any possible weather cancellations or alternate locations.  In the event of inclement weather, sessions scheduled outdoors will be held inside the local library branch.
