MLK, Jr. Day

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, all branches of Illinois Prairie District Public Library will be CLOSED on Monday, January 20, 2025.  We invite our staff and patrons to celebrate Dr. King by participating in the National MLK Day of Service, inspiring people to volunteer in their communities for the betterment of us all.

Kitchen Conversations

A casual gathering to chat about home cooking.  

Each month, we explore a different topic, swap recipes, share tips, and talk about what works (or doesn’t!) in our kitchens.  Come join the conversation and bring your favorite ideas to share!

Life is busy, and sometimes there is not enough time after work to prepare a home-cooked meal.  The solution? Crockpot Cooking!  Join us for a lively discussion about simplifying meal prep with a slow cooker.  Share favorite recipes, discover new ideas, and learn tips for creating delicious, hassle-free meals. Whether you’re a crockpot pro or just getting started, this program is for you!

If you have a favorite slow cooker recipe, bring it!  The library will make copies for everyone in attendance!
