MLK, Jr. Day

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, all branches of Illinois Prairie District Public Library will be CLOSED on Monday, January 20, 2025.  We invite our staff and patrons to celebrate Dr. King by participating in the National MLK Day of Service, inspiring people to volunteer in their communities for the betterment of us all.

Program Description

The Papercrafter's Workshop

The Papercrafter's Workshop is a place to gather for anyone interested in papercrafting of any kind!  Whether you are a scrapbooker, a cardmaker, or someone who makes 3D objects out of paper and cardstock, you will be in good company with us!  This workshop is open to paper crafters of any experience level, from beginners just starting to seasoned makers with years of experience!

Various papercrafting tools will be available for use for free, including trimmers, punches, and more.  Bring your photos, memorabilia, embellishments, and supplies, and work at your own pace.  Debbie Davis-Peshong will be on hand to guide anyone who would like help!

Animal Pages

We all have animals in our lives, whether they’re our beloved pets, backyard visitors, zoo favorites, or even our cherished stuffed animals.  In this session, we’ll create scrapbook pages to celebrate our favorite animals!  Craft pages that showcase your furry, feathered, or scaly friends!
