Discover Central Illinois, one library at a time!

Welcome to the 2024 Read, Eat, Play Library Road Trip!  We are excited for you to start your journey!  We know you will have a great time exploring libraries, restaurants, shops, and parks in communities across our region using the official Read, Eat, Play passport.  Over 20 library locations across central Illinois have joined forces for this exciting adventure, so where you go is entirely up to you!

The program is simple:

  1. Register below (registration is requested, but not required).
  2. Pick up your passport from your home library location.
  3. Have your home library stamp your passport on their passport page (IPDPL branches are on pages 10 - 15).
  4. Visit 5 other libraries before August 12 and have them validate your passport with a sticker or stamp.
  5. Return your completed passport with 6 or more stickers/stamps to your home library before August 24 to be entered into our prize drawing.

One winner will be chosen from all IPDPL patrons who participate.  The winner will receive an Illinois Prairie District Experiences gift basket filled with prizes!

Don't forget -

You can use your library card to check out items from any RSA member library you visit!  When you are done with the items you checked out, you can return them to any Road Trip library and our courier service will get them back home!

Important Dates

July 15 - Passports are available for pickup
August 12 - Last day to collect stickers or stamps
August 24 - Last day to turn in your passport to be entered into the prize drawing

The Read, Eat, Play Library Road Trip is presented in cooperation with the Williamsfield Public Library District.  Each participating library is responsible for its own drawings and prizes.  Patrons are only eligible to win prizes from their library card issuer.

RSA member libraries not included on this list can validate the Read, Eat, Play passport by stamping in the "Bonus Stamps" section of the passport.  Stamps from non-participating libraries DO count toward your Road Trip adventure!

The Fine Print

You must be an IPDPL cardholder in good standing to be eligible to win the prize.  

Library cards must be valid (not expired).

Cardholders with $5.00 or more charged against their library account (fines, replacement fees, etc.) are ineligible to win.
