Author Kate Klise will discuss the art and craft of writing, how to develop captivating characters, and give writers of all ages tips and tricks for polishing their own work!  Kate's presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.

Kate will also be signing copies of her books.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their own books.  Select titles will also be available for purchase on-site.

About Kate Klise

Kate Klise is an accomplished children's author who grew up in Peoria.  Her illustrator sister, M. Sarah Klise, is a frequent collaborator on Kate's books.  Kate has written over 30 books, mainly for children, ranging from picture books to young adult novels.  Many of her middle-grade chapter books are written in an epistolary style, where the text consists of notes, letters, articles, and memorabilia amassed by her characters.  Both the popular Regarding the . . .  series and the 43 Old Cemetery Road series are written in this style.
